Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.
One of the most basic, but utterly impactful monochromatic looks you can put together is the classic black and white duo. Having several black and white articles of clothing you can pair together in a rush is such a great way to save you time, or to help you when you have absolutely no motivation to get dressed that day (been there, done that). Have you paired these colors together recently? We’d love to see!

So you’ve found the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. You have similar interests, you both love the Lord and you’re head over heels for your guy. What more do you need to know before you walk down the aisle?
A lot, actually. Just like a job interview, an employer would want to know that his or her prospective employee is properly qualified to fill the position.
Yes, it can be awkward to ask things you don’t really feel you have the right to know, but if you’re truly going to spend the rest of your lives together, there are some things you should inquire about in order to start off on the right foot. Premarital counseling will help with some of these, but not every couple goes though an intensive session that uncovers possible conflict-causing topics. You can ask these over dinner, during a walk at your favorite park or over the phone if that seems to cause less pressure and anxiety. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. (1 Corinthians 6:18)
I waited until I was married to have sex. In fact, I wore a purity ring for years that was eventually replaced by my engagement ring because I was sure that decision was the right one for me. It’s important to make this choice for yourself and not judge other people who haven’t done the same. I definitely had the desire to be intimate, as any young woman with a pulse might, so I was constantly asked why I was saving my virginity for my future husband.
This subject is a very personal one, and you don’t owe anyone an explanation for whatever you choose to do. However, if you feel the need to respond, it’s best to do it with the spotlight on yourself and your personal convictions instead of simply saying “Everyone should do this because God wants us to.” Keeping God’s commands is very important, but it’s also good to know and share the benefits of abiding by His word. I haven’t met many Christian musicians with such a burden for the lost. Jeevois one of them. As a humanitarian and minister, music is just one of the many mediums he uses to spread the gospel. He’s been releasing albums consistently since 2008, and his boldness and confidence in the Lord is a major reason to be excited about his upcoming concert happening next month. I’ve provided the flyer, please share and invite others to come.

Accessories for men have been around for a long time, but if you’re usually a t-shirt and jeans kind of a guy, where do you start? There are so many amazing brands that offer hats, scarves, bracelets, necklaces, sunglasses, bags, etc. and the key is to make it look effortless. If you normally never wear anything other than a watch, maybe some of the examples here will be a guide of what to buy next and how to rock it.

When my now-husband and I were in the beginning stages of dating, we made great decisions and unfortunate mistakes that have helped us to be where we are now. I’m always up for an opportunity to share a window into that timeline to explain what worked for us and what we should have avoided as we tried to keep God at the center of our relationship. We took courtship seriously, and once we had the title of “boyfriend and girlfriend” it was after we knew marriage was our end goal.
Any attraction comes with temptation, and our journey was no different. It’s important to be on the same page with someone you think might be your future spouse so that you can be in agreement on how to tackle the trial and error of falling in love. Whether or not you have a storybook romance, God is there to help you navigate through the confusion to eventually create your happy ending. Continue reading “Keeping Christ in Your Relationship”→

I’ve been a photographer for about eight years, and one thing I’ve strayed away from is weddings. I know a few wedding photographers, and when I saw Alysha Miller’swork I had to applaud her and give major kudos. A wedding day is not something you can do over. It doesn’t fit into your creative whim and there is an order and a deadline for when things need to be done. The way Alysha has been able to capture the romance between newlyweds and newly engaged couples through all forms of lighting takes my breath away. The best thing about her inspiration and skill is her acknowledgement that it’s from God himself, and I’m excited to see where God places her next steps.
