Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.
Clear and clean skin is something I think we each long for at one point or another in our lives. Don’t believe the hype that you have to spend all your money to get (and keep) clear skin. There’s a simple two ingredient, DIY, face mask that you can use to get QUICK results.
I usually see results within the same week! I’ve been using this simple face mask for several months now, off and on. The ingredients used are activated charcoal and organic honey. According to Mama Rosa, a YouTuber who uses natural routes to maintain a healthy lifestyle, “This is going to help pull out toxins and chemicals in your face”. The good thing about this mask is that you can make enough of this for more than one use.
Materials Needed:
1 Makeup brush (use one you don’t mind getting ‘dirty’)
1 Small, resealable container (I use an empty thyme jar)
Activated Charcoal Pills ( you can get a container of these at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe for under $12)
1 Bottle of organic honey (most grocery stores sell organic honey for under $7)
WARNING! This part is likely to be messy, so make sure you don’t do this above your carpet and keep the area you’ll be doing this over covered. Also, wear an old T-shirt, just in case this gets onto your shirt.
Break open 4-5 capsules into your container. Next, pour 2-3 teaspoons of honey onto the charcoal; I usually just eye it. Next, carefully mix the two ingredients together using your makeup brush. The consistency should be slightly runny, but more paste like so that it’s not dripping everywhere. Once you’ve gotten the mixture to the right consistency, apply to your face in an upward motion, avoiding your eyes. You’ll want to leave this mask on for 5-10 minutes, longer if your heart desires, not exceeding 20 minutes. Make sure you’re hydrated before you apply this mask, you’ll thank me later. Once it’s time to take off the mask, you’re just simply going to rinse your face directly over the sink. Afterwards moisturize your face and you’re all set! If I have stubborn acne I’ll use this mask once a day for 2-3 days in a row. Enjoy!
