Trust in Trying Times

Trust, it’s something I would have told a younger me and something I have to remind myself constantly to do.  Trusting in God is simply obedience in action.

This past year has been a flood of emotions from the ever horrific and tragic news filling my feeds right alongside the sweet birth of my first born and all her very first moments these past 12 months.

MY PROCLIVITY

I am the type of person that can easily spiral down into deep sadness.  My proclivity is to feel deeply which is why I often turn inward to my thoughts of the depravity of man and feelings of hopelessness wash over me if I allow these thoughts to take up residence in my mind and heart. Bon Voyage: A Step of Faith

If you’ve been following our journey on Instagram you may have noticed a stream of Instastories featuring our travel in France.  This may be one of our biggest leaps of faith lived out from years of prayer.  In 2007 I began to learn about one of the world’s largest injustices, human trafficking.  It literally stopped my heart in its tracks to witness such a huge devastation to mankind.  As a member of humanity I simply couldn’t continue life knowing this was taking place on the very soil I walked on.  I had to get involved with my best efforts.  My best, at the time, was on canvas.  My husband and I created art to help bring awareness and drive funds to an organization that is directly helping rescue women and children out of trafficking.

Sons and Daughters of the Kingdom

One thing is for certain, if you don’t have a strong community, your falls will be harder and trust me you will fall.  Having church, (no I don’t mean a building where people meet) has shown me so much about the love of God.

“If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”-Ecclesiastes 4:10
