Be Faithful

In life, there are many

Brightly packaged moments

That if we let them,

Bring change

For me mine came

Before 12pm, last Saturday

Through the conduit of a phrase,

“Be faithful to your responsibilities” Continue reading “Be Faithful”

Home?

Can we talk about how

For years, I’ve heard it said

That, “Home is where the heart is.”

Because recently it dawned on me

That home is where my bed is

And my bed is where I sleep

So really..

Home is where my rest is Continue reading “Home?”

THIS IS HOW YOU CAN GAIN WISDOM FROM THE LORD

Today’s topic is about asking counsel of God. Scripture: “And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord.” – Joshua‬ ‭9:14‬ How often do we make decisions without asking God? One of the greatest gifts we have as believers, outside of salvation and a relationship with God, is being able to ask God for wisdom and guidance. When we make plans ourselves, how can we know that we’re truly doing the right thing? Without asking God, we’re taking shots in the dark. I encourage you to begin seeking God for guidance, I know this is something I’ll be working on doing more often. Continue reading “THIS IS HOW YOU CAN GAIN WISDOM FROM THE LORD”

HOW DO I HOPE IN GOD DURING HARD TIMES?

Today’s topic is on God’s mightiness. Scripture: “That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God for ever.” – Joshua‬ ‭4:24‬ ‭ When we go through trials in life, it can be hard to keep our hope in Christ alive. It can be hard to even trust that He’s still willing and even able to deliver us. But, scripture consistently gives us reasons to keep our hope in Him alive! I pray this message encourages you! Continue reading “HOW DO I HOPE IN GOD DURING HARD TIMES?”

THIS IS HOW TO START GUARDING YOUR HEART

Today’s topic is guarding our hearts. Scripture: “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” – Proverbs 4:23 What’s the importance of guarding our hearts? Scripture tells us that the issues of life come from our hearts! Insecurity, anger, lust, etc. If we’re not careful, we’ll notice the behaviors we have and the words we say contradicting with scripture. I pray this message encourages you to check what seeds you’re planting in your heart. Continue reading “THIS IS HOW TO START GUARDING YOUR HEART”

IS IT TOO LATE FOR GOD’S GRACE?

Today’s topic is on hope for backslidden Christians. Scripture: “For the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away His face from you, if ye return unto Him.” – 2 Chronicles 30:9 If you’re in a backslidden condition, I want you to know that there is hope for you. There is grace for you. There is mercy for you. God is so gracious, that even when we sin or we fall away from the faith, He lovingly waits for us to turn back to Him. God doesn’t hate you because you’ve sinned or because you’ve stopped spending time with Him. He loves you! I pray this message encourages you to turn back to Jesus today. Continue reading “IS IT TOO LATE FOR GOD’S GRACE?”

DO GOD’S PROMISES APPLY TO ALL CHRISTIANS?

Today’s topic is “Receiving the Promises of God”. Scriptures: Psalm 91 and Psalm 51 Let’s remember that while God is merciful and gracious, He is also holy and hates sin. We can’t expect to receive the promises of God if we’re in sin or living a lifestyle of sin. If we claim to be children of Christ, we must behave as such. That means repenting and living for Jesus. We can know that the Holy Spirit is willing to help us stay out of sin, so we don’t have to fight this battle on our own! Continue reading “DO GOD’S PROMISES APPLY TO ALL CHRISTIANS?”

WHICH SPIRITUAL GIFTS ARE BETTER?

Today’s topic is our spiritual gifts in Christ. Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 12:7-18 (please read full passage for context). Today’s starting scripture will be verse 14 which reads, “For the body is not one member, but many”. As a believer, what gift(s) have you been given? Do you use your gift(s), or do you wish you had a “better” gift? Did you know that the Holy Spirit decides who gets what gifts in the body of Christ? We shouldn’t feel less than due to the gift we have! Each of our gifts were purposed for us to help the body of Christ. I encourage you to thank God today for what He’s given you, and if you do want a certain gift… The Bible tells us to just ask the Lord for it. Continue reading “WHICH SPIRITUAL GIFTS ARE BETTER?”

WHERE DO I BELONG IN THE BODY OF CHRIST?

Today’s topic is on fitting perfectly in the body of Christ! Scripture: “From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” – Ephesians 4:16 Do you know that there’s a place for you in the body of Christ; a perfect place for you! God has a specific plan for how your gifts and skills can be used to glorify Him and uplift/edify others. I pray this message encourages you and causes you ask God how you can be used for Him. Continue reading “WHERE DO I BELONG IN THE BODY OF CHRIST?”
