You don’t have to be a beauty guru to apply your own false lashes. You may want something simple that looks like you grew them yourself, or something more dramatic that fans the air every time you blink. Okay, we know that’s an exaggeration. Lol. These beauties may give you some inspo the next time you’re headed out with a full face of makeup on.

Sometimes looking your best helps you feel like you can conquer the world. Jessica Shakir is a celebrity makeup artist and hair stylist, and has been in the game for over 18 years. When you look at her, you ask yourself “How? Did she start out when she was 2 years old?” I know, I know. This girl doesn’t look a day over twenty. I’ve known her for over 8 years, and the most beautiful thing about Jessica is her heart for God. For years she’s been encouraging women to stay pure for God until they become a wife, and it’s exciting that she recently walked down the aisle to marry her very own Prince Charming a few short months ago. I met the owner of Rare Flare a few years ago when she just had her precious baby boy and was announcing that her website was coming soon. I was pregnant at the time and it was amazing to see a new mommy who still had a passion to follow her dreams. Fast forward to today and we are both hustling our talents and showcasing our skills while balancing motherhood and marriage. While looking through my list of people I wanted to promote through this website, I was shocked that I hadn’t gotten to my dear friend Amy Jean yet! She’s a painter, photographer, tattoo artist, wife, mother, and just all around amazing human being. So amazing in fact that she introduced me to my husband 8 years ago. I interviewed her on my personal webpage when I was doing a series that highlighted artist. And here we are again. The thing I admire about her the most is that she brings humor and joy everywhere she goes. Her laid back approach–which fits very well into her home of Hawaii–is a reminder that we all need to breathe every once in a while, forget the to-do list, and keep the important things of life a priority. How I Gained Confidence Through Christ

I get asked a lot “Have you always been this confident?” The truth is: NO WAY! It took me a long time to be the confident woman I am. I’ve struggled with identity issues and feeling insecure for many reasons (that I describe in this video). It wasn’t until my walk with God was solid that I found peace in who I was because I finally understood whose I was. It’s been a journey of self-discovery that I’m sure every human has to go through in order to walk confidently through life. I still find myself dabbling in comparison and doubt, but it’s not the all-consuming fire that it used to be.
