What does it mean to be real? To be aspiring? To be a woman? Melissa Ingram knows the definition of R.A.W. and it set on sharing it with the world. As a victim of childhood abuse, you would think it would be impossible for her to turn her insecurities into a career that–let’s be honest–expects perfection. Modeling was a true leap of faith, but the story the enemy wrote for her was re-written by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Follow her blog as she shares the innermost corners of her heart all while developing a brand and helping plan a fashion show that raises awareness for organizations that fight for the freedom of victims of human trafficking and global poverty. Where is Your Treasure?

This article was originally written in October of 2015 for Get. Give. Grow., a website that discusses the fundamentals of business and everyday life with God . Thank you for reading!

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Luke 12:34)

It’s easy to live an unbalanced life. Most of us don’t have someone hovering over our shoulder telling us where our time belongs. It wasn’t until I had a baby that I was forced to slow down and focus my attention on the things that really mattered. For a while family was on the back burner because I had so much work to do for God, and I could not be bothered. Surely they would still be there for me when all was said and done, right? Take it from me, you can easily burn a lot of bridges while you’re “getting stuff done” and living your life like it’s golden.

Dan and Rachel Mark have been a part of a global movement that has taken social media and the church by storm. What started out in Los Angeles grew to several other major cities before combining their efforts to create OurWitnessI’ve had the pleasure of writing more than a few pieces for their website, and it really kickstarted my need to get testimonies to a wider audience and to share the gospel with others through any medium I could. L’amour In Christ has come to be in existence thanks to websites like Our Witness and the steady impact they have on the globe. Continue reading “Promo Tuesday with OurWitness”

Who Are You Living For?

This article was originally written in September of 2015 for Get. Give. Grow., a website that discusses the fundamentals of business and everyday life with God . Thank you for reading!

“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10)

It’s human nature to criticize and to be criticized. Just because it’s normal doesn’t mean it’s right, but it doesn’t have to affect you either. I’ve had judgmental people in my life ever since I can remember, but it’s only recently that I’ve realized the major impact it’s had on me. I figured something needed to be done.

I used to pride myself on being the “good girl” and a rule follower. It wasn’t often that you could catch me in a lie or find me doing something wrong because I was adamant about doing things God’s way. If I did falter or I didn’t receive the approval of man, it really shook me to my core and chiseled away at my self-esteem. I thought this was just good old fashioned conviction and a sign that I needed to do better. Continue reading “Who Are You Living For?”

Eggizo Entertainment  started off as three friends who were excited about comics, but wished there was more content that was biblically based. Comic enthusiasts will flood a San Diego convention hall every year, but how many of them are walking through the halls of the church? As a tool to bring the gospel to a younger generation, sometimes you have to use your favorite medium to carry the message. In order to aid in God’s plan to minister to every thrill seeker and story lover, a cord of three (Jeroll Rodgers, Frederick Price, and Jerrell Conner) stepped into the world of the resurrected in order to bring you Restoration: Judges. This is only the beginning. Continue reading “Promo Tuesday with Eggizo Entertainment”

Them Good Old Days

This article was originally written in December of 2013 for my personal blog. Thank you for reading!

People often say phrases like, “Those were the good old days.” or “They just don’t make them like they used to.” or “No one produces good music anymore.” I find this HIGHLY generalized and untrue. This way of thinking is supposed to give you warm gushy feelings about sock hops and soda shops, but to me it’s very depressing to think that the world is going in a downward spiral. What’s the use of living when life is getting worse?

Every once in a while, my husband and I will go to an unpopulated scenic spot to enjoy a little peace and quiet you don’t normally get in the city. It’s refreshing to look into the horizon and catch a glimpse of perfection. God’s earth. A great big thing He created for us to enjoy. Just because global warming, recession, and blah blah blah is in full effect, that doesn’t mean we aren’t supposed to appreciate what we still have. Continue reading “Them Good Old Days”

Promo Tuesday with Au Natural Love

Promo Tuesdays is where we highlight our brothers and sisters who are moving through ministry and small business while spreading the gospel as the Lord leads. Please support them by checking out their website and social media.

I’ve known the founder of  Au Natural Love almost as long as I’ve known my husband, so it’s been a while. I’ve seen her grow from a fellow young adult in church into an entrepreneur and leader in many facets of life. One of the things that’s so important about her ministry is the promotion of self-love. I can’t tell you how embarrassed I was to grow up as a mixed race teenager in middle school who had no idea what to do with my frizzy hair. It’s only now that I’m 30 years old that I’ve been able to accept my curls and stop relaxing my hair. Fortunately, there are beauty experts like Kelsie who are sharing their own journey of embracing the hair God gave them as well as sharing tips on how to manage different textures among the many ethnicities around the globe.

Here’s a little about her in her own words:

“It is my heart’s desire to touch the lives of women all over the world; to show them how beautiful they truly are and teach them how to take care of what God blessed them with. Whether permed, relaxed, straight or curly, you are beautiful so spread the love.”

In Love,

ConfirmationStation

Hello again. Thank you for stopping by. My, you sure look nice! What are you all dressed up for? You didn’t know I had a camera mounted in your room, did you? Oh shucks, calm down. I can’t see anything but the words I’m typing on this page.

Onto business…

I’m not one to really window shop. If I can’t afford it, I don’t want to spend my time wishing I had it and walk away sad that I don’t. I only go to the store if I’m in need of something, but I DO have one exception. Puppies! Just like children, it will be years before I have a little doggy of my own. I’ve already set my mind on a Pug. I want one just like the “Men in Black” costar with the smooth tan fur, deepset black face, and swirly pig tail. I lovingly call them “smashed face dogs” since it looks as though they’ve run into a wall at full speed. Continue reading “Puppy Love”

Promo Tuesday with Love Lezlie

Promo Tuesdays is where we highlight our brothers and sisters who are moving through ministry and small business while spreading the gospel as the Lord leads. Please support them by checking out their website and social media.

A mutual friend introduced me to my now dear friend Lezlie, founder of Love Lezlie. It’s no wonder we clicked because we’re both in the fashion and entertainment industry aspiring to live a lifestyle that promotes love. She’s been blogging for several years on her career, her walk with God, choosing a vegan lifestyle, spiritual growth, marriage, ethnicity, etc. and the impact her words have is amazing. I’ve even had the opportunity to be featured on her site. There aren’t many people I know who live a completely transparent and unashamed gospel-driven life and are willing to share it on a public platform. I hope you’re as impacted by her journey as I am.
