Praise and Worship Only?

But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. (John 4:23)

I remember when there wasn’t a Spotify, an iTunes, or a Pandora app. Heck, I remember when smartphones weren’t even a thing. Do I sound old yet? Listening to praise and worship music used to consist of the same 10-15 songs on repeat on the Christian radio station in my local area or the few songs I sang each week at church. This started to get old, and I remember riding in the car and telling my mom that I was so tired of Christian music. I soon found out that I didn’t have an issue with Christian music, but the ones I heard over and over just weren’t my thing. Continue reading “Praise and Worship Only?”

The Problem with Comparison

Comparison is the thief of joy. It robs us of our gratitude because we’re either too busy being envious of something we don’t have, or being prideful that what we do have is better than so-and-so’s. Remember the term “Keeping up with the Jones'”? (Do people still use that phrase?) You could see it as an endearing way of striving for “better” so that we don’t become content with “not good enough”. However, everyone’s “better” looks different. If you ask a group of people what success means to them, I bet it will be a different definition to each person.

I remember when I first moved to Los Angeles from Hawaii, and I thought “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I made it all the way here. I can’t believe I’m already working as an actress just weeks after I changed my address.” I felt pretty great about myself until the auditions started wearing on me. When you’re sitting in the waiting room eager for your name to be called, sometimes other actors in the room will start chit-chatting about their career or what they’ve been up to lately. Funny Friday: Toddlers

God has a sense of humor and so do we. Let’s get the weekend started with a good laugh!

If you’ve ever met a toddler, you know their thought process is so beyond logical that it becomes hilarious. What would it be like if adults acted just like them? Story of This Life did a spot-on job bringing that idea to life.

Promo Tuesday with Jeevo

Promo Tuesdays is where we highlight our brothers and sisters who are moving through ministry and small business while spreading the gospel as the Lord leads. Please support them by checking out their website and social media.

I haven’t met many Christian musicians with such a burden for the lost. Jeevo is one of them. As a humanitarian and minister, music is just one of the many mediums he uses to spread the gospel. He’s been releasing albums consistently since 2008, and his boldness and confidence in the Lord is a major reason to be excited about his upcoming concert happening next month. I’ve provided the flyer, please share and invite others to come.

Be sure to follow his career because there are several major announcements coming up soon. Continue reading “Promo Tuesday with Jerrell Conner”

I met Arielle after hearing her perform spoken word at an event a few months ago. To say I was speechless is an understatement. As she came in for a hug, I commented on how humble, sweet, and approachable she was. She replied “I’m not really familiar with what a “stranger” is. I don’t know what that looks like.” I’ve never heard someone describe themselves that way before, but immediately God told me that the way she was created was to give others a sense of “home”. I agree. Her poetry and personality is comforting and validating at the same time. What she’s embarking on as an artist and truth seeker has already started a movement, and I’m totally on board. If you’re free THIS Saturday April 2nd, you can attend her EP Release party for “Symphony of Lioness”. More details here. Continue reading “Promo Tuesday with Arielle Estoria”

What does it mean to be real? To be aspiring? To be a woman? Melissa Ingram knows the definition of R.A.W. and it set on sharing it with the world. As a victim of childhood abuse, you would think it would be impossible for her to turn her insecurities into a career that–let’s be honest–expects perfection. Modeling was a true leap of faith, but the story the enemy wrote for her was re-written by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Follow her blog as she shares the innermost corners of her heart all while developing a brand and helping plan a fashion show that raises awareness for organizations that fight for the freedom of victims of human trafficking and global poverty. Eggizo Entertainment  started off as three friends who were excited about comics, but wished there was more content that was biblically based. Comic enthusiasts will flood a San Diego convention hall every year, but how many of them are walking through the halls of the church? As a tool to bring the gospel to a younger generation, sometimes you have to use your favorite medium to carry the message. In order to aid in God’s plan to minister to every thrill seeker and story lover, a cord of three (Jeroll Rodgers, Frederick Price, and Jerrell Conner) stepped into the world of the resurrected in order to bring you Restoration: Judges. This is only the beginning. Continue reading “Promo Tuesday with Eggizo Entertainment”
