The Robertsons on “I am Second”

You may or may not have heard of Duck Dynasty. It’s a reality series that follows a Christian family and their duck hunting business. It literally exploded and became a huge success. On air, they discuss their family business, and always incorporate God into the show as much as they can. Here, “I am Second” sits down with a few of the members and reveals what a grip the enemy had on them before they accepted God into their lives.

How I Gained Confidence Through Christ

I get asked a lot “Have you always been this confident?” The truth is: NO WAY! It took me a long time to be the confident woman I am. I’ve struggled with identity issues and feeling insecure for many reasons (that I describe in this video). It wasn’t until my walk with God was solid that I found peace in who I was because I finally understood whose I was. It’s been a journey of self-discovery that I’m sure every human has to go through in order to walk confidently through life. I still find myself dabbling in comparison and doubt, but it’s not the all-consuming fire that it used to be.

Before starting my YouTube channel, me and my mother were doing research on other YouTubers with similar ideas, faith, and personality. My mom sent me a link to Ashley Empowers and I was hooked. I watched a few episodes of her “Dating With Purpose” series, and I also followed the journey of her relationship, engagement, marriage, and now newborn baby girl. God will never give you a complete and detailed blueprint of what you are called to do (it may overwhelm you!), but He will show you step by step in a way that you need to be encouraged and sometimes that means linking you up (through the internets) with other believers that are doing similar work for His Kingdom. Earlier this year, I walked the runway for a fashion ministry event titled “Fashioned4Life“. The feedback was so great that the producers of the show were asked to hit the stage again. Here we are now for Fashioned4Life Ministry Showcase 2! There are seldom times when I’m able to combine my love for fashion with my love for Jesus. I met Cece during a model fitting a few months ago. It didn’t take long for us to start talking about our love for God and how He’s impacted our careers. She mentioned that she took a leap of faith and left the corporate world to pursue her love for fashion and styling. We traded contact information and I looked up her brand La Isla Vida as soon as I got home. My jaw dropped. She mentioned that this was her first fashion line, and her designs looked as though she’s been confidently doing this for years. That’s the power of trusting in your Creator to work through you. So many opportunities have come up for her since she’s stepped into the spotlight, but the most admirable quality of her success is the fact that she chooses to use her skills to help others. Many of the red carpets she walks have a cause behind them, and she doesn’t pass up an opportunity to help others in their pursuit to make the world a brighter place.
