In March of 2016, my husband was hired to produce the awesome animation you see above. Before that, I had never heard of College Church Connection. I never really knew such organizations existed. When you look at the stats, it really is disturbing to see how many college freshmen who grew up in Christian households end up wavering in their faith pretty quickly because they don’t have a community at school that looks highly on their lifestyle. How many of you felt very pressured to “live it up” and forget everything you knew growing up once you set your foot on a college campus? I found out about A21 on social media when someone shared about a human trafficking victim that was saved through their efforts. Seeing these stories pop up in the news feed and knowing that these are humans being saved all over the globe makes you want to yell “Praise God!” every time. The statistics on human trafficking are disturbing, and it’s easy to feel hopeless by such a widespread problem. However, companies like this–and the unfortunate victims–deserve your attention. As I was scrolling through Instagram, I came across this Christian brand called 139Made. I was already drawn to their beautiful designs on t-shirts and mugs, but when I noticed that the founder Inka Mathew joined in the fight against human trafficking, I knew that I had to feature them and get others to see what they are doing for those who currently cannot help themselves. 10% of each purchase goes to featured anti human trafficking organizations. Promo Tuesday with Propaganda

Jason Petty aka Propaganda came to Hawaii to perform back in 2008 when I lived there, and that’s when I met him for the first time. I was hired to be the camera person to record the event and was blown away at the talent and intellect that came from his musical poetry. Flash forward a few years and I meet him again through mutual friends in California about a year after moving here. It turns out he had met me and my now husband on separate occasions before we even knew each other existed. It’s funny how life works that way, and we all still talk here and there as our careers and families blossom. The best thing about witnessing him on stage is seeing how the audience has to consciously digest the message because the stories he tells are so deeply profound. I was privileged to meet it’s founder Johana Hernandez a few months ago when she opened up her shop to have a women’s bible study. Sometimes looking your best helps you feel like you can conquer the world. Jessica Shakir is a celebrity makeup artist and hair stylist, and has been in the game for over 18 years. When you look at her, you ask yourself “How? Did she start out when she was 2 years old?” I know, I know. This girl doesn’t look a day over twenty. I’ve known her for over 8 years, and the most beautiful thing about Jessica is her heart for God. For years she’s been encouraging women to stay pure for God until they become a wife, and it’s exciting that she recently walked down the aisle to marry her very own Prince Charming a few short months ago. The day I met Theresa, I found out she was a fighter. In 2009, she was diagnosed with stage 2B cancer & this year marks her 7th year cancer free. She had 4 surgeries & 6 months of chemo in one year, and is thankful that her body was strong enough to sustain such an ordeal. If you thought that slowed her down one bit, you thought wrong. Several years ago, Art Devotionals was just an idea. Here we are in 2016, and Nuo Liu is selling her one-of-a-kind artwork to teach the gospel to young children. The bible says to train a child up in the way they should go, and when they are older they will not depart from it. What a better way to get a child’s attention than a bright and colorful set of crayons, stickers, and a coloring book!
