Since my sister Khyra was a kid, I remember her always drawing and working on crafts in her bedroom like it was a business. I can even recall a time when I entered my art into an art show and she requested to submit her work as well. I thought she was joking until we showed up and she asked me where she could display her pieces. Even still, this young woman is serious about her business and it’s evolved into a legitimate art and apparel company that turns heads everywhere it’s seen. Peace Peep Designs is more than a brand, it’s a way of life and a call to action. May we all continue to live in peace. My latest hobby is browsing through fashion blogger Instagram accounts. My favorites are the ones that have a pleasing color scheme, balanced images, and a common theme. When I came upon Pink Couch Girl, I was immediately impressed and clicked “Follow” with the quickness. It’s no wonder she actually has a course on how to get your Instagram feed in order. Days later, she posted that she would be co-creative directing a photoshoot for G.L.A.M. Camp for Girls. I was excited that I booked the shoot and would get to meet her in person. Her name is very fitting for her because Dr. Peace Amadi is one of the most calm under pressure people I’ve ever worked with. (Us creative types can usually get very frazzled very quickly!) Whenever I see her posts, I always know there’s a helpful nugget of wisdom in the description because she takes her platform and influence seriously. Get to know her and let her know I sent you. Fashion Friday: African Print

Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.

No matter what part of the world you’re from, prints are a must-have in anyone’s wardrobe. There are so many amazing textiles from across the globe, and this week we’re feature African Prints. The colors are out of this world amazing and there are so many styles to choose from. If you don’t have any already, we think it’s time to stock up.

Several years ago, Art Devotionals was just an idea. Here we are in 2016, and Nuo Liu is selling her one-of-a-kind artwork to teach the gospel to young children. The bible says to train a child up in the way they should go, and when they are older they will not depart from it. What a better way to get a child’s attention than a bright and colorful set of crayons, stickers, and a coloring book! I’m so glad to see dreams come to life, and I hope you visit Nuo’s website and follow her social media to stay up to date on her journey.

I think my friend Mignonette Bailey has her hands in about a dozen different things, and each one is successfully curated and executed. When she started her company Sole of Brasil, the shopper in me immediately wanted to start purchasing every sandal, flat, and strappy heel she offered. Something that I’m drawn to in a entrepreneur is a heart for putting others first and using their platform to reach people in need. She is no different, and her cause is that with every purchase, Sole of Brasil makes a donation to the Dream Center’s Human Trafficking Program to house and rehabilitate women who have been rescued from traffickers. I met the owner of Rare Flare a few years ago when she just had her precious baby boy and was announcing that her website was coming soon. I was pregnant at the time and it was amazing to see a new mommy who still had a passion to follow her dreams. Fast forward to today and we are both hustling our talents and showcasing our skills while balancing motherhood and marriage. Fashion Friday: Modest Glam

Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.

We don’t think Christians should be dressed in revealing clothing, but we don’t think they need to be covered from head to toe either. When you imagine a modest outfit, what does it look like? For some of you it may mean a certain length skirt or a specific neckline, and ultimately modesty should be a lifestyle that permeates every aspect of your life. It’s important to seek God to guide you in your wardrobe, but we also thought it might be helpful to see some examples. Here’s a video with three “modest glam” looks that are sophisticated, feminine, and elegant.

While looking through my list of people I wanted to promote through this website, I was shocked that I hadn’t gotten to my dear friend Amy Jean yet! She’s a painter, photographer, tattoo artist, wife, mother, and just all around amazing human being. So amazing in fact that she introduced me to my husband 8 years ago. I interviewed her on my personal webpage when I was doing a series that highlighted artist. And here we are again. The thing I admire about her the most is that she brings humor and joy everywhere she goes. Her laid back approach–which fits very well into her home of Hawaii–is a reminder that we all need to breathe every once in a while, forget the to-do list, and keep the important things of life a priority.
