He Loves Me

Our first ever contributor Khyra has a gift for writing poems, and has graciously allowed us to share them with our readers. Stay tuned for more contributors in the future!

He Loves Me

Jesus died for me.

He loves me.

My Father which art in Heaven came up with the perfect plan for me to able to abide with Him forever once my days on earth are up.

He loves me.

The Holy Spirit chose to leave His dwelling in Heavenly places and take up residency in me.

He convicts me of sin, He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake, he makes all my paths straight when I acknowledge Him in all my ways, He speaks to me, He lets me know gently when I have lost focus.

He loves me.

Jesus will destroy the option for me to be in a sticky situation if I allow Him to, if I am willing to listen.

He loves me.

He created the heavens and the earth, a place for me to dwell, He went before His disciples to prepare a place in Heaven for us.

He loves me.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good.

He loves me.

Jesus protects me from the demons that prowl the earth, that have been given power over the flesh.

He loves me.

Jesus gave me another opportunity to do what is righteous, to choose Him, to choose love, and to choose godliness.

He loves me.

He loves me.

Oh, how He loves me.

In Love,

-Khyra L’amour

Promo Tuesday with Mary Conner

Promo Tuesdays is where we highlight our brothers and sisters who are moving through ministry and small business while spreading the gospel as the Lord leads. Please support them by checking out their website and social media.

So many will say “The children are our future”, but how many will actually do what it takes to ensure they have a future worth living? I’m proud to share the work that my aunt Mary Conner has been doing lately. She just started a project titled “Campaign 13” and she is asking everyone to support her by purchasing one or more of her books. She has two titles out and is currently working on her third. The aim of these books is to answer some questions that parents or youth may have about the juvenile justice system. Most of us aren’t aware of our rights, and great power comes with the knowledge of understanding the government. Continue reading “Promo Tuesday with Mary Conner”

Funny Friday: Toddlers

God has a sense of humor and so do we. Let’s get the weekend started with a good laugh!

If you’ve ever met a toddler, you know their thought process is so beyond logical that it becomes hilarious. What would it be like if adults acted just like them? Story of This Life did a spot-on job bringing that idea to life.

The Problem with Revenge

Mass shootings and innocent people losing their lives in the name of terrorism has always been something that’s hard for me to process. You see it in news headlines all the time, but I’ll never understand a human being thinking that another person’s life is worthless. Now that I’m a mother, it’s even harder to see news stories and online articles about bombings, school massacres, and gunmen opening fire in a public place.

One thing you hear often is “That person or group deserves to be murdered the same way they took the lives of those other people. I hope they rot in hell.”

It cuts me to my core to see that someone can take pleasure in the idea that a murderer might experience torment in hell for eternity. I say “might” because we have no idea where people will stand with Christ before they exhale their last breath. That’s how awesome God is! We are all sinners and none of us deserve to go to Heaven, but we have our whole lives to repent and turn to God. We should be so grateful for this, and wish for everyone to have this chance. Promo Tuesday with Shirley Alarie

Shirley

The writing bug has bitten a few members of my family, and my Aunt Shirley Alarie is the proud author of four non-fiction books. In the past few years (following a recovery from breast cancer), she’s been penning title after title, all in the hopes of helping others and providing resources through her personal experiences. To say she’s an inspirational writer is an understatement, and there are more books on the way that she’s currently developing with no sign of slowing down. You can purchase her latest book “A New Home for Dominick” here.

Fashion Friday: His and Hers Black and White

Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.

One of the most basic, but utterly impactful monochromatic looks you can put together is the classic black and white duo. Having several black and white articles of clothing you can pair together in a rush is such a great way to save you time, or to help you when you have absolutely no motivation to get dressed that day (been there, done that). Have you paired these colors together recently? We’d love to see!

Questions to Ask Before Walking Down the Aisle

We’re doing a series on dating and relationships. Join the conversation! Are there any specific topics you’d like us to write about? (This article was originally written in December of 2015 for Project Inspired, a website that encourages Christian teenage girls all over the world. Thank you for reading!)

So you’ve found the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. You have similar interests, you both love the Lord and you’re head over heels for your guy. What more do you need to know before you walk down the aisle?

A lot, actually. Just like a job interview, an employer would want to know that his or her prospective employee is properly qualified to fill the position.

Yes, it can be awkward to ask things you don’t really feel you have the right to know, but if you’re truly going to spend the rest of your lives together, there are some things you should inquire about in order to start off on the right foot. Premarital counseling will help with some of these, but not every couple goes though an intensive session that uncovers possible conflict-causing topics. You can ask these over dinner, during a walk at your favorite park or over the phone if that seems to cause less pressure and anxiety. Funny Friday: Babies

God has a sense of humor and so do we. Let’s get the weekend started with a good laugh!

Who doesn’t like babies? Who does’t like jokes? Well, we’ve got both here. If babies could talk, this is probably what they’d say.

1) And the baby stories will never stop.

Baby1

2) Apparently, we think babies love high pitched voices.

Baby2

3) Thankful for those diapers, even though babies hate putting them on.

Baby3

4) Who needs sleep anyways?

Baby4

5) Wow, what a brave one.
