Promo Tuesday with April Blooms

I was recently hired to model for a local Pasadena shop named April Blooms. The owner’s name is April and her mission is to help women of all shapes, sizes, and colors bloom and feel beautiful. I love an organization with a purpose, and the icing on the cake was finding out that she donates a portion of the shop’s sales to two organizations that support victims of human trafficking both at home in California and abroad through prevention, advocacy, prosecution, and restoration. Every embroidered tote bag and clutch was calling my name, as well as the clothing that has a sophisticated and high quality feel. It may not snow where you live, but you can still see white with winter fashion. If you’re used to donning the usual dark colors of the season, we’d like to persuade you to try some fabulous white outfits. Purchasing some outerwear will give you plenty of options for great ensembles when you’re walking through town in the brisk air.

The colors are out of this world amazing and there are so many styles to choose from. If you don’t have any already, we think it’s time to stock up.

How I Gained Confidence Through Christ

I get asked a lot “Have you always been this confident?” The truth is: NO WAY! It took me a long time to be the confident woman I am. I’ve struggled with identity issues and feeling insecure for many reasons (that I describe in this video). It wasn’t until my walk with God was solid that I found peace in who I was because I finally understood whose I was. It’s been a journey of self-discovery that I’m sure every human has to go through in order to walk confidently through life. I still find myself dabbling in comparison and doubt, but it’s not the all-consuming fire that it used to be.

Earlier this year, I walked the runway for a fashion ministry event titled “Fashioned4Life“. The feedback was so great that the producers of the show were asked to hit the stage again. Here we are now for Fashioned4Life Ministry Showcase 2! There are seldom times when I’m able to combine my love for fashion with my love for Jesus. Kelsie and Bren have truly inspired me to get outside of my comfort zone and to be bold with whatever vision God has given me. Are you in the LA area and interested in coming? Well, you can! I met Cece during a model fitting a few months ago. It didn’t take long for us to start talking about our love for God and how He’s impacted our careers. She mentioned that she took a leap of faith and left the corporate world to pursue her love for fashion and styling. We traded contact information and I looked up her brand La Isla Vida as soon as I got home. My jaw dropped. She mentioned that this was her first fashion line, and her designs looked as though she’s been confidently doing this for years. That’s the power of trusting in your Creator to work through you. So many opportunities have come up for her since she’s stepped into the spotlight, but the most admirable quality of her success is the fact that she chooses to use her skills to help others. Many of the red carpets she walks have a cause behind them, and she doesn’t pass up an opportunity to help others in their pursuit to make the world a brighter place.
