Fashion Friday: Ombre Hair

Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.

We can’t seem to think of a time of year when ombre hair is not in season. If you’ve never tried it, we suggest you start with a subtle color and build to more bold colors if you like the effect. You may prefer a more natural gradient that looks like you spent hours in the sun, or a more bold contrast of “mermaid hair”. Either way, we’re sure you’ll rock it!

I’ve been following She Paints Truth on social media for a while ever since my small group sisters told me about the awesome biblical daily encouragement they provide through art. It wasn’t until I saw a post from the founder Christie that I stopped in my tracks. Around the same time, we both posted about our walk with God and how He confirmed who our spouse was. Her story is a little different than mine, but the overall message is the same. After social media stalking her (I know I’m not the only one! Lol.), I thought it would be more than appropriate to give her a feature. I love what she’s doing in her personal testimony as well as her art platform to share the gospel. I met Cece during a model fitting a few months ago. It didn’t take long for us to start talking about our love for God and how He’s impacted our careers. She mentioned that she took a leap of faith and left the corporate world to pursue her love for fashion and styling. We traded contact information and I looked up her brand La Isla Vida as soon as I got home. My jaw dropped. She mentioned that this was her first fashion line, and her designs looked as though she’s been confidently doing this for years. That’s the power of trusting in your Creator to work through you. So many opportunities have come up for her since she’s stepped into the spotlight, but the most admirable quality of her success is the fact that she chooses to use her skills to help others. Many of the red carpets she walks have a cause behind them, and she doesn’t pass up an opportunity to help others in their pursuit to make the world a brighter place. Fashion Friday: His and Hers All White

Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.

What could be better than strutting around as a blank canvas? We know, it’s intimidating to wear all white because…stains. However, there are so many fabrics you can wear in white that are easy to clean. If you’ve never tried wearing an all white ensemble, we encourage you to start. Going from simply casual to red carpet stunning is as easy as sliding that debit card at your favorite boutique…or rummaging through your closet for that white skirt that still has tags on it. It can be a simple addition to your makeup that draws attention to your eyes, or an extreme effect to add drama to your editorial photoshoot. Either way, winged eyeliner is an amazing look that isn’t going away any time soon. We know it’s a little intimidating in the beginning, but we believe–with enough practice–you can master the artistry of liquid liner. I first met Jennifer Sosa at a wedding in 2010 where she scurried around dressed in black, taking photos of the guests and wedding party during the reception. I never really understood the artistry of wedding photographers until I saw the photos she had taken uploaded onto social media. One of the photos I remember most was of the bride and groom in the reflection of water she found on site at the church. I was so used to the staged photography you see time and time again, and I had no idea photographers were “allowed” to experiment on someone’s wedding day. Her portfolio has grown and her style has become more defined since then. It’s hard to keep track of which city she’s in because her talents have her traveling for work often. The fact that she’s hilarious and down-to-earth is another reason to love this woman. One of the most basic, but utterly impactful monochromatic looks you can put together is the classic black and white duo. Having several black and white articles of clothing you can pair together in a rush is such a great way to save you time, or to help you when you have absolutely no motivation to get dressed that day (been there, done that).
