Fashion Friday: Men’s Athletic Wear

Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.

Ladies don’t have to be the only ones having fun getting dressed for the gym. Athletic wear has come such a long way in the past few years that men and women are starting to wear it for pretty much any occasion. Fellas, have you hopped on board the athletic fashion train yet?

When Should You Move on From Your Crush?

I think many people fail to understand how emotionally invested teen girls and young 20-somethings are when it comes to dating. Simply forgetting about a guy isn’t so easy to do, depending on how long you’ve liked him or how close you two have been. I’ve had crushes that ranged from a few weeks up to a few years. I’m talking a “Dear Diary, my heart is breaking! Why doesn’t he like me?” type of thing. I’m sure we’ve all been there.

Although I don’t personally believe dating is necessary until you’re entering a life stage where you are marriage-minded, I know most of you are hoping to have a relationship soon. I’d like to share some tips on who to avoid in the meantime. I’ll also briefly describe what you can do to get through the tough task of moving on. I found out about A21 on social media when someone shared about a human trafficking victim that was saved through their efforts. Seeing these stories pop up in the news feed and knowing that these are humans being saved all over the globe makes you want to yell “Praise God!” every time. The statistics on human trafficking are disturbing, and it’s easy to feel hopeless by such a widespread problem. However, companies like this–and the unfortunate victims–deserve your attention. Whether you were born with them or not, nowadays anyone can get curls in their hair. There are countless styles you can do with curly hair, and we personally love how they pop when they have different hues of colors in them. Are you a fan of curls? If so, what’s your favorite way to style them?

Is God Trying to Get Your Attention?

When I first found my home church, I wanted to be involved in everything 100 percent. I went to service on Sundays, had my small group meetings in the middle of the week, helped edit videos for the service, joined the dance team, volunteered my acting skills in the performing arts ministry and was about to join the choir. Is that calendar making your head spin or what?

Our overworked and overly busy society that takes pride in a full and color-coded calendar app has infiltrated the way we have church. It almost becomes more about the building than the body of Christ. Let’s make sure that our efforts of serving our Heavenly Father are balanced and coming from the right place. I was already drawn to their beautiful designs on t-shirts and mugs, but when I noticed that the founder Inka Mathew joined in the fight against human trafficking, I knew that I had to feature them and get others to see what they are doing for those who currently cannot help themselves. 10% of each purchase goes to featured anti human trafficking organizations. It only takes a few minutes before she says his name, and your heart sinks to the pit of your stomach. You and your best friend–who are used to sharing everything–are into the same guy! Jason Petty aka Propaganda came to Hawaii to perform back in 2008 when I lived there, and that’s when I met him for the first time. I was hired to be the camera person to record the event and was blown away at the talent and intellect that came from his musical poetry. Flash forward a few years and I meet him again through mutual friends in California about a year after moving here. It turns out he had met me and my now husband on separate occasions before we even knew each other existed. It’s funny how life works that way, and we all still talk here and there as our careers and families blossom. The best thing about witnessing him on stage is seeing how the audience has to consciously digest the message because the stories he tells are so deeply profound.
