I think my friend Mignonette Bailey has her hands in about a dozen different things, and each one is successfully curated and executed. When she started her company Sole of Brasil, the shopper in me immediately wanted to start purchasing every sandal, flat, and strappy heel she offered. Something that I’m drawn to in a entrepreneur is a heart for putting others first and using their platform to reach people in need. She is no different, and her cause is that with every purchase, Sole of Brasil makes a donation to the Dream Center’s Human Trafficking Program to house and rehabilitate women who have been rescued from traffickers. I met the owner of Rare Flare a few years ago when she just had her precious baby boy and was announcing that her website was coming soon. I was pregnant at the time and it was amazing to see a new mommy who still had a passion to follow her dreams. Fast forward to today and we are both hustling our talents and showcasing our skills while balancing motherhood and marriage. Fashion Friday: Modest Glam

Beauty is all around us and our Creator has given us so much inspiration to work with. We all know that true beauty comes from the inside, but on Fashion Fridays we discover the latest fashion and beauty trends that help us to feel beautiful on the outside.

We don’t think Christians should be dressed in revealing clothing, but we don’t think they need to be covered from head to toe either. When you imagine a modest outfit, what does it look like? For some of you it may mean a certain length skirt or a specific neckline, and ultimately modesty should be a lifestyle that permeates every aspect of your life. It’s important to seek God to guide you in your wardrobe, but we also thought it might be helpful to see some examples. Here’s a video with three “modest glam” looks that are sophisticated, feminine, and elegant.

How I Gained Confidence Through Christ

I get asked a lot “Have you always been this confident?” The truth is: NO WAY! It took me a long time to be the confident woman I am. I’ve struggled with identity issues and feeling insecure for many reasons (that I describe in this video). It wasn’t until my walk with God was solid that I found peace in who I was because I finally understood whose I was. It’s been a journey of self-discovery that I’m sure every human has to go through in order to walk confidently through life. I still find myself dabbling in comparison and doubt, but it’s not the all-consuming fire that it used to be.

Before starting my YouTube channel, me and my mother were doing research on other YouTubers with similar ideas, faith, and personality. My mom sent me a link to Ashley Empowers and I was hooked. I watched a few episodes of her “Dating With Purpose” series, and I also followed the journey of her relationship, engagement, marriage, and now newborn baby girl. God will never give you a complete and detailed blueprint of what you are called to do (it may overwhelm you!), but He will show you step by step in a way that you need to be encouraged and sometimes that means linking you up (through the internets) with other believers that are doing similar work for His Kingdom. Recently, I modeled in a runway show. Weeks before the event date, I was scheduled to have a fitting with Casonna herself. When I arrived, she was passionately working away on her sewing machine in her home studio. This gave me time to take in the work in progress on her dress form, the many swatches of fabric that would soon become elegant wardrobe pieces, and the closet bursting at the seams with dresses, jumpsuits, skirts, gowns, etc. I only had to try on one gown, and it fit like it was made for me. The best part about wearing her gown on the runway was seeing the joy in Casonna’s eyes as her gaze went from model to model taking in the amazing work of her hands. She is one of the most humble and talented designers I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and I just had to give her a shoutout here on L’amour In Christ. Earlier this year, I walked the runway for a fashion ministry event titled “Fashioned4Life“. The feedback was so great that the producers of the show were asked to hit the stage again. Here we are now for Fashioned4Life Ministry Showcase 2! There are seldom times when I’m able to combine my love for fashion with my love for Jesus. Kelsie and Bren have truly inspired me to get outside of my comfort zone and to be bold with whatever vision God has given me. Are you in the LA area and interested in coming? Well, you can!
